Are dogs kenneled with you?
No! There are no kennels or kennel runs here! However, if your dog is crated at home and you wish him to be crated here as well, I will of course accommodate you. Your dog lives with me just as he does with you. Interacting in my house and being part of the family. If your dog prefers to be crated at night, I can do that of course, but if he's used to sleeping on the bed, that's where he will be!
Can you pick up and deliver my dog?
Yes!! I sure can. I can pick up your dog at your home and bring him back to mine. When you're home and settled, I can drive him back home to you!
Does my dog need to use a flea prevention product?
Yes. Your dog must have one of the many good chemical (not "natural") flea control products applied or given at least 3 days prior to his or her stay here. Please understand this is for the safety of all of the dogs staying here, including yours.
My dog needs medication. Can you give it?
Absolutely! I'm very comfortable with all things medical. I'm a BSN-level certified trauma nurse and a certified K9 tactical medic. I also teach K9 CPR and First Aid. Your dog will be in safe hands!
My dog is on a special diet. Is that a problem?
I'm more than happy to accommodate reasonable special dietary requests! As an example, I cannot do things like homecook for your dog, but I am more than happy to feed him your homecooking if you bring me enough frozen. The same goes for raw-fed dogs. With any special requests, we will discuss if it's doable for me and if so, I will need the item(s) and your instructions.
Do you watch aggressive dogs?
No. If your dog is aggressive with other dogs, or with people, I cannot watch him. Your dog is coming into my family and will be treated as such. He must be able to completely get along with the other dogs staying here, as well as the humans!
Do you watch puppies?
Yes, sometimes. While I prefer dogs who are housebroken, I do sometimes watch puppies too. The base fee is slightly higher to allow for the extra care that goes into caring for an unhousebroken or partially housebroken puppy.
Can you train my dog while he’s there?
No. I'm not a dog trainer and don't do any training with your dog. My job is to concentrate on making your dog's stay warm, welcoming, and safe. If you'd like the name of a good trainer, let me know and I'll be happy to share it with you!
Is there a discount for more than one dog?
Yes! I do offer a multi-dog discount for dogs in the same family. Please speak to me about this when we talk on the phone!
